A rare Republican set with 144 tiles in 30:70 bone and bamboo. There are 2 replacement tiles in similar bone and bamboo, but otherwise complete. The bamboo is depicted in the same style as the famous Wilkinson-Laufer set and the bone has a nice patina suitable to its age. Sets were often produced separately from their boxes and this set is simply packaged in a fabric covered box, together with a pair of bone dice.
