This is old bone and bamboo, possibly even Qing, in a slide top woodbox, Wilkinson-Laufer style Bamboo suit, represented as chains of money. The backs are a dark bamboo referencing ebony. Many Republican sets were made with imported American bone which was bleached, whereas this bone is most probably Chinese.
